The Ukranian-born, Brooklyn-based Alina Simone recently released a haunting, sometimes harrowing tribute to the late Russian punk-poet Yanka Dyagileva (think of her as a young Siberian Patti Smith). The words may be in Russian, but the emotions need no translation.
